What this does to the move
Moving one room out of a shared house is a small job and it gets treated accordingly — usually by an hourly man-and-van who is being paid to hurry. That is fine right up until something is damaged in a hallway you share with five other people.
The building is the complication rather than the volume. HMOs around Feltham are frequently converted houses with narrow stairs, fire doors on every landing that will not stay open, and a hallway that is the only route for everybody.
We treat a room move as a proper job with proper protection. It is a smaller load, not a lesser one.

Watch for
Fire doors. Wedging one open for convenience is a genuine safety issue in an HMO and it is the kind of thing that ends up in a complaint to the council.
